Teenage is that period of life where innocent children live in their fantasy world. They love to explore everything life has to offer, without thinking about the consequences. Some of their acts many lead them with scares that can never be healed throughout their lifetime.
In today’s world scenario, we see many teens expressing their desires on chat shows and interviews of having a baby. This is becoming very dangerous to our society; sex is being experimented more and more at an early age. The percent of children having sex at teenage is increasing in many countries especially the developed countries. And for your information, an institution which concern on children in Indonesia (KPAI) has been released a data that 62,7 % students are ever having sex. This survery was done toward 4.500 students around 12 big cities in Indonesia and it’s so pathetic right? There are many consequences such as unwanted pregnancy, resulting in increasing rates of abortion, depression and sadness, feeling of loneliness etc.
Teaching teens about parenting is a great idea. This is a good way of showing teens the reality of life, which makes them understand the difference between fantasy and reality.
Taking parenting classes will make them realize it’s important to be self-sufficient, or have a career or be financially secured before even thinking of having a baby. And this also protects teens from unprotected sex. This will also help them in developing more respect for their parents. They will realize how much their parents have been through in the process of raising them. They will understand the responsibility that comes with having a child. Parenting classes can prevent teen from unsecured sex and even the thought of having a child at an early age.
We see that many young child doesn’t know how to behave at different places, it is not his fault rather his parents , who never tries to inculcate good behaviors in their children. Thus even a parent should be encouraged to take parenting class, which will help them in bringing up their child in the right way.
Thus parenting classes will be beneficial for both teens and parents. It will help in the development of an individual resulting in the development of a society and the world at large.
